It’s that time of year where I feel like I am barely keeping my head above water.
I’ve been in school for a month now and have been frantically preparing my students for their internships.
And now, starting today my kiddos will be at their schools for their first day. I feel like I can finally exhale now that this moment has come.

Does anyone else feel slightly (or not so slightly) overwhelmed this time of year?
I am constantly on the hunt for ways I can relieve stress and take care of myself. And while I usually learn towards the self-pampering side of destressing, I also want to find other ways I can remind myself throughout the day that everything is going to be a-ok.

Enter stress relieving plants.

Keeping these plants around the house (or even classroom if you have windows!) can help ease your mind-

  • Lavender

  • Snake Plant

  • Jasmine

  • Rosemary

  • Aloe Vera

  • English Ivy Plant

  • Areca Plant

  • Golden Pothos

Besides these plants being proven to help reduce stress due to their properties, I also find myself destressing by solely focusing on taking care of the plant itself.
I have now hit my record of keeping one of my plants alive for 7 months now!
While taking care of my plants my mind is focused on the task at hand which means my mind is off work, and at least a fraction of my stress is received just by that.
